We work direct with you to make initial site assessments of the landscape and project plan your irrigation solution. We can drill a bore-hole, connect to an existing water supply, lay all pipework and electrical cabling, install and fit the pump and pump machinery and control centre – and all at a competitive price. Panks has been drilling bore-holes across Norfolk and Suffolk for over 40 years. Our detailed geological and hydrological maps of East Anglia enable specialist engineers to make accurate site assessments and identify the best spot for the drill.
Up to 19m3 or 19000 litres of water can be drawn off daily, completely free of charge. Then, let us boost your business and the water pressure, and feed bore-water directly into your irrigation or washing systems. Or, if you require, we’ll filter it via a water treatment plant to produced potable water.
And what about the waste water after washing down? Why not recycle grey waste water via one of our treatment plants? This reusable source of water, alongside potential rainwater harvesting, can greatly reduce your costs and improve efficiency.
Panks will install storage chambers to capture the run-off, including surface water and rainwater, if required, and feed it through a water treatment plant. We can treat it with UV filters and chemical compounds to produce potable water, or we can use an inverter pump to put it back into your systems – pressure boosted – for washing, flushing or irrigating.
From the initial wash process in the pack house, along every step of the way you need our pressure boosting systems to guarantee effective cleaning.
High pressure jet-guns can remove your produce from the back of farm vehicles into reception tanks. Along the intake rollers through to the later stages of washing, our pressure boosted spray equipment will effectively and accurately rinse and wash produce. Control centres allow adjustment of pressure ratios and jet stream flow and direction, so you can minimise damage to your produce and maximise your efficiency.
For cleaning ‘dirty’ water we have a range of water treatment plants. For bore-water, our double tank systems filter sediment and aerate the water before chemical compounds are introduced to lock any harmful minerals and iron nitrates into removable resin. Ultra violet filters remove harmful bacteria.
Our cyclone machines filter off grit during the washing via a settlement process and the resulting debris is pumped away. We take the water back into the system for treating and reusing.
In our chilled hydro-cooler tanks ice cold water is dropped through the produce bringing their temperature down to 1 or 2 degrees before they are ready to be bagged and packed.
