Job description
Panks is a friendly, family-run business which was established in 1842. We currently have branches located in Norwich and Ipswich and due to expansion within our teams, we are recruiting experienced Electrical and Service Engineers to join our Service and Contract teams based in our Ipswich Branch.
This is a full-time position subject to a three-month probation period, with the role becoming a permanent position following successful completion.
Department: Service and Contracts
Brief outline: Electrical Installations, Maintenance and Fault Diagnosis to Pumping Systems.
Main Responsibilities
Our advertised role is for an experienced Electrician with knowledge of the installation of Motors, Pumps, Control panels and electrical services associated with clean water and wastewater systems. The role will include technical, electrical and mechanical as well as hands-on fault finding whilst supporting our customers with breakdowns and installations.
Skills needed.
– Servicing, fault diagnosis, maintenance and responding to breakdowns with clean and dirty water systems.
– Carry out electrical testing and certification of electrical circuits.
– Ability to read panel drawings and understand control equipment.
– Provide support on technical issues for customers and staff.
– Electrical & Mechanical support of installations in a Commercial and Domestic environment.
– Work to always recognise industry standards.
– To assist other trades as/when required.
– Site management and support projects from start to finish.
– Ensure all paperwork for the project is kept up to date.
– Support the Manager with any duties required.
– Responsible for weekend/evening emergency callouts on a rota with other engineers.
– Good working Knowledge of BS7671. (Essential)
– Working Knowledge of pipework installations and pumps (Desirable).
Training/Qualifications needed to undertake the role.
– Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent AM2, testing and inspection and certification of electrical circuits, CSCS / ECS Card, 17th or 18th Edition, Minimum 2 years’ experience.
