Water Supply
Borehole Drillers for Ground Water Supply
If you live in the Eastern region and are considering installing a private water supply system, read on…
Panks have been drilling bore-holes across Norfolk and Suffolk for over 100 years. Our detailed geological and hydrological maps of East Anglia enable our specialist engineers to make accurate site assessments and identify the best spot for the drill. Working to current Health and Safety legislation and using our own percussion drills we bore to a depth of between 10 to 90 metres to locate the chalk bed and the aquifer beneath. Panks are members of the Well Drillers Association and operate to approved standards.
Borehole Benefits
Perhaps you are unable to connect to the mains or just need to improve your water supply pressure? You might be looking to reduce your water costs long-term or increase your water usage? Or maybe you are choosing to adopt a purer potable water supply and avoid the chlorine and chemicals associated with mains water?
Your own private water supply can resolve these issues.
In fact you could literally be sitting on the answer! Convert your water supply (potable or non-potable) to groundwater abstraction and Panks will provide you with a complete solution: we will make the initial site assessments, drill the borehole, install the pumping system and water treatment plant if required and get you up and running.
Thereafter your water supply is completely free, up to a maximum of 20,000 litres a day or 20m³/h.*
A groundwater abstraction borehole fitted with a specialist bore-pump, taps into nature’s resources and the many underground aquifers across Norfolk and Suffolk to supply you with vast quantities of water – free of charge. There is little in the way of running costs other than electricity to the pump system and services or repairs.
A further benefit of using groundwater is that it responds slowly to changes in rainfall so stays readily available during dry summer months.
And Panks bore-hole systems, coupled with high capacity and quality pumps, ensure that you have a supply of water at whatever pressure you require up to 3bar and enough to support a pressurised water system.
In some circumstances where the water table is close to the surface, a screened borehole or well point can be used to extract water from sands and gravels and no drilling rig is required.
Water Supply Installation with Panks
We can design your system from initial concept through to delivery and installation however diverse the requirement.
The borehole and specialist bore-pump is linked to a control centre, with all necessary electrical cabling supplied and fitted by Panks.
If potable water is needed, our specialists initially test for water quality and supply and, if required, fit a water treatment plant. A media bed filters out iron and is automatically flushed twice a week depending on levels and UV filters eradicate coliforms. We can also install water softeners as bore water is naturally hard.
We can move the water from source to wherever it is required.
And at Panks we won’t leave you high and dry after the work is complete; after supplying and installing we will service and repair the equipment for you too.
Groundwater Abstraction for Irrigation
Panks is proud to have worked with farmers, horticulturists and keen gardeners and sports amenities managers across Norfolk and Suffolk for over 150 years and we know reliable and efficient irrigation is central to your growing success or pitch quality. Invest long term with the installation of a groundwater borehole tapping into nature’s reservoirs. Coupled with one of our irrigation systems, Panks will work with you to find the correct applications for your landscape and growing needs.
Groundwater Abstraction for Leisure
Supplying and maintaining accommodation, grounds and leisure facilities such as pools and shower blocks with water throughout the busy holiday seasons can lead to increasingly high costs. We can help take the heat out of the summer season – all year round – with our borehole water supply systems providing up to 20,000 litres per day free of charge.
Our applications also allow pressure and flow to be maintained at peak periods, particularly useful for boatyards and campsites on changeover days allowing washing down and topping up as fast as possible and keeping costs down.
Groundwater Abstraction for Homes
If you are a homeowner with an expanding family the cost of water usage can be uncomfortably high. Similarly, in care-homes or larger residential buildings, water is a daily requirement; and therefore a daily cost you could do without.
A private water supply system allows you the ability to control water pressure and flow and the freedom to supply all your activities from washing to flushing, watering gardens, topping up ponds, car-washing, whatever the time of year and despite hosepipe bans.
The benefits of installing a borehole allows you access to free water with little in the way of running costs other than electricity or repairs.
Water Supply in Sustainable Builds
Are you planning an ecologically sound development and considering groundwater abstraction? Panks can provide you with the entire package from initial hydrogeological surveys and site assessments, through to borehole drilling and water treatment plant installation.
Quality Brands
Panks choose to install long-lasting and quality brands to suit each application
Panks are committed to only using quality brands such as Grundfos, DAB and Lowara amongst others. Our extensive specialist knowledge of the geology and hydrology of East Anglia means we can select the correct pump for your particular job.
